BBC Four launches 16-play theatre archive on iPlayer and BBC Four

BBC Four has made 16 filmed stage productions spanning seven decades of post-war British and Irish theatre available on BBC iPlayer from 26 July 2026, with broadcasts starting at 10pm the same evening on BBC Four. The first broadcast was Samuel Beckett's Not I, featuring a 1990 introduction by Billie Whitelaw. The collection includes accompanying documentary profiles on nine playwrights.
