Firth wins Northern Ireland's first Glasgow 2026 medal after year away for motherhood

Bethany Firth took bronze in the women's 200m freestyle S14 at Tollcross, Glasgow on 25 July — Northern Ireland's first medal of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Sheffield took gold, Maskill silver. Firth, 30, a six-time Paralympic champion, returned after a year out of the pool. Her daughter Charlotte is approaching her second birthday.
