Jordan Devey, a retired NFL offensive lineman who won Super Bowl XLIX with the New England Patriots, died July 21, 2026, at age 38. The Guardian and Reuters confirmed he took his own life. Devey played seven seasons across five teams (44 games, 21 starts) and later coached youth and high school football in Eagle, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Linsey, and four children. A GoFundMe for the family has raised over $92,000 toward a $200,000 goal. His mother told Fox 13 in Salt Lake City she believes CTE contributed to his death, though that link remains unconfirmed. CTE can only be diagnosed posthumously through brain tissue examination.
