Scottish Premiership weekend reduced to one match as five clubs postpone for Europe

Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Motherwell and Hibernian all postponed their 22 August league fixtures to free them for European qualifying play-offs. A rule change since April 2025 lets clubs postpone unilaterally — no agreement from the opponent required. The only surviving fixture is Dundee United v Dundee, 5:45pm on Premier Sports. Reshuffled matches move to mid-September.
