
FENZ told MPs its 2022 purchasing system failed and no new firetrucks deployed in seven years
Fire and Emergency New Zealand told a parliamentary committee its 2022 procurement system "didn't work." Paper-based maintenance records and a seven-year truck-buying process failed to put any of 30 new firetrucks on the road. CEO Kerry Gregory said, "We will do better." Board chair Raveen Jaduram called the problems "not acceptable."
