
Houthi Port Blockade Shuts Saudi Oil Exits as Prices Pass $90
Houthi forces blockaded Saudi ports on July 20 after Riyadh targeted Sana'a airport. Saudi Arabia had used the Red Sea to export oil, bypassing Iran's earlier closure of the Strait of Hormuz — a route carrying roughly a fifth of global supply. With both chokepoints (narrow shipping lanes) blocked, oil topped $90 a barrel.
