Burnham to pledge 'unashamedly Labour' agenda in first speech as leader

Andy Burnham will give his first speech as Labour leader on Friday, promising an "unashamedly Labour" programme: public control of utilities and reindustrialisation. The BBC said he will call for "a new path" after 40 years of the existing one. Burnham replaces Sir Keir Starmer as prime minister on Monday.
