Fourteen Climate Models Agree: Current El Niño May Be Strongest on Record

Berkeley Earth's Dr. Zeke Hausfather reviewed 14 seasonal model forecasts and concluded the current El Niño is very likely the strongest since reliable records began. The event is now locked in across the Pacific. Combined with ongoing global heating, it could make 2027 the hottest year ever recorded, with sweeping impacts on Pacific agriculture, fisheries, and water systems.
