Cyberattack Raised Temperatures at French Blood Bank Sites
Several French blood banks were hit by a cyberattack on Nov. 2, France's Health Ministry said. The attack targeted a vendor's refrigeration controllers, the devices that run cooling equipment, at three French Blood Establishment (EFS) sites. It raised defrost and temperature settings to dangerously high levels. Staff moved plasma bags to backup cold storage that was not affected.
