Iran has effectively shut the Strait of Hormuz — a chokepoint carrying one-fifth of global oil — after US-Israeli strikes, pushing tanker traffic to a two-month low. Iran's military called the strait a "red line"; the IRGC, its elite guard, warned of further closures. CENTCOM (US Central Command) has struck Iranian targets four times since early July.
