Gibraltar's Symbolic Fence Removal Leaves Border Unchanged

On July 15, Gibraltar's Chief Minister ceremonially removed 150 metres of the Spain-Gibraltar border fence. But the gesture masks little physical change: new security barriers now funnel all traffic through two checkpoints, and the border itself remains unmoved. The underlying deal—Schengen visa-free travel without ceding sovereignty—took five years to reach after Brexit.
