Rep. Don Bacon Not Seeking Reelection; Nebraska Seat a Top Democratic Target

Republican Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska is not running for reelection in 2026. His Omaha-based 2nd District seat is open, and the Associated Press lists it as a top Democratic target in the midterm elections, which are held halfway through a president's term. Bacon won a fifth term there in 2024. Voting was underway November 3.
