New York Times Book Review ends romance columnist Olivia Waite's contract over Bluesky repost

The New York Times Book Review has ended its contract with romance columnist Olivia Waite, who wrote the column for more than six years. Publishers Marketplace reported it on 3 November 2026. Waite had reposted, without comment, a Bluesky message by journalist Mark Jacob criticising assistant managing editor Patrick Healy. Reports so far do not say who will replace her.
