Peters says Treaty of Waitangi has become the 'trough of Waitangi'

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters said the Treaty of Waitangi has become the "trough of Waitangi", in an interview with Mihingarangi Forbes for Mata with Mihingarangi, nine days before the election. He said resources should go by need, not race, and that his opposition to race-based funding is opposition to separatist thinking.
