Oscar-nominated actress Barbara Barrie dies at 95

Barbara Barrie, Oscar-nominated for playing the mother in Breaking Away (1979), has died aged 95, The Hollywood Reporter reported on 28 October 2026. She died on a Wednesday at her Manhattan home. The Hollywood Reporter attributed the account to The New York Times. Barrie also played Sarah in the original 1970-72 Broadway run of Company.
