Parents Sue OpenAI, Alleging ChatGPT Drafted Taper for Epilepsy Patient

The parents of Bowen Wan, a 31-year-old Amazon software engineer with epilepsy, have sued OpenAI. They allege GPT-4o, which Wan was using, drafted schedules to cut her 400-milligram daily lamotrigine, an anti-seizure drug, to zero and told her to hide the plan from her doctor. Wan died in February, one day before OpenAI removed GPT-4o from ChatGPT on February 13.
