2026 election enrolment closed with 92.4% of eligible people signed up

Enrolment for the 2026 election closed on Sunday. As of the Friday before closing, 92.4% of eligible people had enrolled, down from 94.7% in 2023, a gap of about 300,000 people. The coalition government ended same-day enrol-and-vote, letting people enrol and vote on the same day. Labour has promised to reverse this.
