France proposes 28-pupil class cap and new university application system amid school protests
France's government proposed capping first-year high school classes for 15-year-olds at 28 pupils in half of schools in the lowest-income areas, extending the cap to all high schools next year. It also plans to replace Parcoursup, the national university application platform, with a new system in 2028. Student union Les Lycéens urged pupils to keep blockading schools.
