Japan seeks JPY250 billion for content industry in fiscal 2027 budget request
Japan's government has sought roughly JPY250 billion ($1.67 billion) across ministries in its fiscal 2027 budget request for growth investment in the content industry, Variety reported on 26 October. Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae's cabinet had named content, including film, a strategic priority under its growth strategy. The sum is a request, not an approved budget.
