Lula Wins Brazil's Runoff After Trailing in First Round

Lula won Brazil's presidential runoff against Flávio Bolsonaro, son of ex-president Jair Bolsonaro. Counting was nearly complete: Lula 51.75%, Bolsonaro 48.25%. Lula had trailed by about 2.2 million votes after the October 4 first round. He is the first candidate since Brazil's 1980s return to democracy to finish second in round one and win the runoff.
