Commonwealth Secretary-General says a royal apology for slavery "wouldn't hurt"

Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Secretariat, the body that runs the organisation's day-to-day work, told Sky News that an apology from King Charles "wouldn't hurt". She said numerous Commonwealth countries had asked for one. Buckingham Palace has announced no change to its position. Reuters reported in early October that the King was not planning a formal apology on his Caribbean tour.
