UK Society of Authors withdraws from Ethical AI Charter one week after launch

The UK Society of Authors has withdrawn from the Ethical AI Charter it launched on 14 October 2026. It told members by email on 21 October, after member backlash. The Society says the step allows time to listen to members' views. A survey is open, and no timeline for a revised charter has been set.
