Christchurch school granted exemption to run its own lunch programme

Haeata Community Campus, a Years 1–13 school in Christchurch, has been granted an exemption from the government's Healthy School Lunches programme. From Term 1 2027, the school will run its own lunches from its industrial kitchen, with local kitchen staff and caterers. The change follows a dispute over mouldy lunches.
