€30 million Klimt bid, Austria's highest, cancelled over provenance

Patti Wong & Associates bid €30 million for Gustav Klimt's Portrait of Fräulein Lieser at Im Kinsky in Vienna in April 2024, The Art Newspaper reported. The bid, the highest ever at an Austrian auction, did not complete. The transaction was cancelled over provenance, the documented chain of ownership. The holder is Eva Ropper.
