Limoges city hall partially destroyed in fire after protests
Limoges's 143-year-old city hall was set on fire Oct. 17, 2026, after demonstrations ended, leaving it partially destroyed and heavily damaged. Reports attributed the blaze to radical individuals, described as casseurs, acting on the margins of the mobilization. Mayor Guillaume Guérin said attackers destroyed a magnificent historic building.
