Egypt's Sisi says he will step down in 2030

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said Oct. 17, 2026, he will leave office when his term ends in 2030 and will not seek to stay. Constitutional changes approved in a 2019 referendum extended presidential terms from four to six years and allowed him to seek a third term.
