Texas system failure delayed nearly 600,000 voter registrations

Nearly 600,000 Texas voter registrations were delayed by a software error in a Department of Public Safety driver's license site. From October 2025 to February 2026, people who chose 'yes' to register got receipts, but their information was never recorded. Counties received the backlog shortly before early voting opens Monday.
