UK threatens to bar all Eritreans unless Eritrea accepts returns

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has warned Eritrea to accept the return of criminals and people with no right to be in the UK, or face a complete ban on Eritreans entering Britain. Eritrean officials have already lost fast-track visa access after Eritrea withdrew cooperation on returns earlier in 2026, the Home Office said.
