Commerce Commission won't act to lower Wellington water bills

The Commerce Commission says it will not step in to hold down Wellington water bills at this time. Chair John Small said affordability is outside its mandate, which is to ensure assets are managed properly and prices are not out of line with costs. It follows calls from Mayor Andrew Little and deputy Ben McNulty for price regulation.
