National would drop parking rule ban

National says it will scrap the blanket ban on minimum parking rules in council plans, as part of its plan for Auckland. The Post reported the ban — which stops councils requiring a set number of car parks for new builds — was brought in under Labour to allow more homes close together and cut car use.
