Kaz Hirai says he ignored Sony HQ orders as PlayStation chief

Former PlayStation president Kazuo "Kaz" Hirai said he ignored orders from Sony headquarters while leading the games business from 2007 to 2012. In a Nikkei XTrend conversation reported by Eurogamer from a Game Observer translation, he said: "What the headquarters says is irrelevant. We are PlayStation." The orders included those from then-CEO Howard Stringer.
