Publishers issue Frankfurt Appeal to enforce existing AI rules first

Publishers issued the Frankfurt Appeal on 6 October 2026. RELX global AI policy lead Elizabeth Crossick cited it at the Preserving Trust in Science panel at Frankfurter Buchmesse on 7 October 2026. The appeal urges policymakers to make existing AI and copyright rules effective before adding new ones.
