U.S. Pressed Allies to Drop Backing for Vilnius Anti-Disinformation Meeting

The U.S. State Department under President Trump urged allies to withdraw support from #Disinfo2026, Europe's yearly conference on fighting false information in Vilnius. Canada, Lithuania and the EU's diplomatic service, the EEAS, pulled out and removed logos from websites. Three officials confirmed the U.S. contacts. Research will likely continue, but cooperation across the Atlantic gets harder.
