London Court Overturns Libor and Euribor Convictions of Five Ex-Barclays Traders

London's Court of Appeal on 7 Oct 2026 overturned the convictions of five former Barclays traders — Jay Vijay Merchant, Jonathan Mathew, Philippe Moryoussef, Alex Pabon and Colin Bermingham — jailed in 2016-2019 for rigging Libor and Euribor, benchmark rates for loans between banks. Their cases were sent back for review in January 2026.
