Primetime Emmys move to Prime Video in six-year deal from 2027

Variety reported 6 October 2026 that Prime Video struck a six-year deal with the Television Academy to carry the Primetime Emmys from September 2027. The report says it ends the 31-year wheel deal, meaning ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox rotated hosting, and takes the ceremony off broadcast television for the first time since 1949.
