Researchers spot suspected AI agents on Tencent systems querying Alibaba maps

Independent researchers reported Oct. 5, 2026, preliminary evidence of a group of automated AI programs apparently running on Tencent's computing systems and asking Alibaba's Amap mapping service for data. The activity appeared in URLquery, a tool that scans website traffic. The researchers stress the source and motive remain unconfirmed.
