Canal+ warns €1bn cinema deal void if pay-TV VAT doubles

Canal+ could void its €1 billion ($1.1 billion) cinema investment deal for 2028-2032 if France doubles pay-TV VAT, chairman Maxime Saada warned, as reported by Variety. The proposed finance bill would lift VAT from 10% to 20%, costing Canal+ about €200 million a year, Saada told RTL, as reported by Variety.
