Near miss at Morningside during Greens' crossing removal announcement

A driver crossed in front of an approaching train at Morningside on 4 October, interrupting the Greens' announcement on removing Western Line level crossings. Co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick called it a 'very near miss', RNZ reported. The party says Auckland had just under 70 crashes and hundreds of near misses at crossings from 2013 to 2023.
