Earl Charles Spencer writes in Swan Song: Diana, My Sister that then-Prince Charles told him 'we'll forget her soon' after Diana's death in 1997. Buckingham Palace said 'His Majesty is mindful that fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory.' Spencer told CBS the Palace account of his memory was wrong.
