Sotheby's expects J.M.W. Turner's Rome, From Mount Aventine to sell for £50m in London on 9 December, a new record for the artist. The painting is rare because few Turners remain in private ownership, meaning not in museums. It last sold in 2014 for £30.3m, then the highest price for a Turner.
