Zelenskyy's No-Show at Gdańsk Summit Signals Poland-Ukraine Rift
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy will skip the June 25–26 Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, sending First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko instead. The absence follows Polish President Nawrocki's June 19 revocation of Zelenskyy's Order of the White Eagle—retaliation for Ukraine naming a military unit after the controversial World War II Ukrainian Insurgent Army. Both sides exchanged decorations in protest. Though the conference's reconstruction agenda remains intact, Zelenskyy's withdrawal diminishes the symbolic weight of allied unity at a crucial moment.
