Cass warns permanent puberty blocker ban will harm more children than research would

Dr Hilary Cass, who led the independent review that led to a ban on puberty blockers for under-18s, said on 22 June that more children would be harmed without clinical trials than with them. Her review recommended trials within research protocols only. The government made the ban permanent in December 2024, departing from her original recommendation.
