Spain blocks export of painting it calls unknown Goya

Spain's Ministry of Culture refused gallerist Artur Ramon an export licence to show San Pascual Bailón at Tefaf, the art fair in Maastricht in the Netherlands. The ministry said everything seems to indicate the work, bought at a Madrid auction in 2018 attributed to Francisco Bayeu, is an unknown Francisco de Goya from around 1780, The Art Newspaper reported.
