QueerFrames lab expands into Southeast Asia with eight features

QueerFrames Screenwriting Lab is expanding into Southeast Asia for its fourth edition, Variety reported. Its 2026 cohort of eight features centres queerness in each story, Variety reported, drawing writers from India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and diaspora. The lab opens with a Hua Hin retreat Sept. 23 to Oct. 2, followed by virtual sessions through March 2027, Variety reported.
