J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles acquires rediscovered Velázquez portrait

The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles has acquired Portrait of the Count-Duke of Olivares, a rediscovered painting newly attributed — the scholarly finding on authorship — to Diego Velázquez, the museum said. The Getty said the 17th-century work strengthens its 17th-century European paintings holdings. No price was disclosed.
