Eriksen leaves Wolfsburg three months after second collapse

Christian Eriksen has left VfL Wolfsburg by mutual consent, three months after collapsing for Denmark against Ukraine in June 2026. Wolfsburg announced the exit on 23 September 2026. Eriksen, 34, said his implanted defibrillator, a device that corrects dangerous heart rhythms, activated as designed. He will continue rehabilitation in Denmark.
