US business growth hits 4 1/2-year high

US business output rose to 58.4 in September from 56.0 in August, S&P Global's flash data show, the strongest in 54 months. Its Composite Output Index tracks private activity; above 50 means growth. My take: sustained strength could keep the Fed cautious on rate cuts, keeping savings rates up and borrowing costs high.
