Princess Astrid died two days after her brother's state funeral

Princess Astrid of Norway died on 11 September 2026 aged 94, the Norwegian Royal House announced. Two days earlier she attended the state funeral — the full ceremonial funeral for a head of state — of her brother King Harald V of Norway in Oslo on 9 September. Her funeral followed at Ris Church in Oslo on 23 September.
