Activision to develop next mainline Halo game after Halo Infinite

Microsoft has enlisted Activision to make the next main Halo game after Halo Infinite, released in 2021. Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty announced the plan on Xbox Wire on 22 September 2026, saying a new purpose-built team inside Activision will lead it, separate from Call of Duty work.
