Prosecutors seek 15-year term for Kakao founder in SM stock case

South Korean prosecutors asked the Seoul High Court on September 23, 2026, to sentence Kakao founder Kim Beom-su to 15 years in prison over alleged SM Entertainment share-price manipulation, Yonhap reported via Reuters. They also sought a KRW 510 million fine. The request came at the final hearing of Kim's appeal after his October 2025 acquittal.
